Florida Energy Efficiency Code Plan Review / Technical Consulting Service
In 2012, InterCode Incorporated will offer Technical Consulting and Energy Code Plan Review Services. ICI's professional staff will be available to provide necessary technical expertise for a new construction project, or an existing building undergoing renovations, alterations or additions that will be required to comply with the Florida Energy Efficiency Code.
Florida’s energy code requirements are rapidly evolving. Florida builders have been required by state law to cut the energy consumption of new houses by 20 percent in 2010 and by 50 percent in 2019. This legislation was signed into law by former Gov. Charlie Crist in 2008. The legislation follows Crist’s executive order in 2007, which already toughened Florida’s Energy Efficiency Code for building construction by 15 percent compared with the 2007 code.
Preliminary Plan Review Service
A Preliminary Plan Review is an initial review for energy code compliance. ICI will offer a Preliminary Plan Review that is performed when the construction documents are still in the initial stages of development, which is a useful tool for further plan development.
Complete Plan Review Service
ICI staff will perform a comprehensive Complete Plan Review of design drawings and specifications for energy compliance as the design nears completion in preparation for submittal to the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
